Course Content

Ever wondered why it is so hard to talk about mental and emotional health It is easy to take a sick day for food poisoning or migraine, but what exactly is stopping people from getting the help they need to safeguard their mental well-being?

In light of the burnout experienced by many during the pandemic, many education institutions have increased their emphasis on mental and emotional well-being and efforts to create a psychologically save and inclusive environment.  While the current efforts equip teachers with a toolkit of resources, the stigma attached to mental health issues and the unintended marginalizing behaviors are still largely a deterent to teachers coming forth to seek help. These behavioural manifestations signal a deep-seated issue regarding mindset.

If efforts to strengthen mental and emotional well-being do not address a change in mindset – the fundamental way people see and regard others, nothing will change.

In order to lower the barriers to access and bolster the effectiveness of the Wellness Ambassador Initiative rolled out by the Ministry of Education in late 2021, it is imperative to create an environment that allows people to feel safe while being vulnerable; one that encourages authentic conversations and prides inclusion at its core.

In Arbinger’s Outward Inclusion 1-Day workshop, Principals and Key Personnel will be equipped with the tools to address the mindset and behaviors that get in the way of creating the culture your institution needs. Outward Inclusion guides leaders through a process of self-discovery to help them uncover biases and become equipped with practical tools to create an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity and fosters psychological safety and real belonging.

Come experience a refreshing way to lead and nurture inclusivity in your workplace by “calling people in” rather than “calling people out”!
